View worker profile
See their tier, reviews, past work, and skills before deciding.
Chat with the worker
Ask questions or negotiate before committing.
Accept a bid
Accepting one bid automatically declines all others.
Decline a bid
Decline individual bids you do not want to proceed with.
Watch for warnings

PHASE 2 — AGREED

Confirm the job can start

After you accept a bid, the job moves to "Agreed" — not in progress yet. Both you and the worker must confirm before work officially begins.

The worker will also confirm on their side. Only when both of you confirm does the job move to "In Progress".
Use the messaging feature to agree on a start time before confirming.
PHASE 3 — IN PROGRESS

While the work is happening

The job is underway. Use PieceJob messaging to communicate with the worker. When the work is done, mark it complete from your dashboard.

Communicate via messaging
Keep all communication on PieceJob — your phone number stays private.
Mark as complete when done
When you are happy with the work, click "Mark job as complete" on your dashboard.
Cancel if necessary
If something goes wrong, you can cancel from the dashboard with a reason.

PHASE 4 — COMPLETED

Confirm payment and leave a review

When the work is done, confirm you have paid the worker on the platform. Then leave an honest review — it helps other posters make good decisions and rewards quality workers.

Confirm payment
Both you and the worker confirm payment. If there is a dispute, PieceJob steps in.
Leave a star rating
Rate overall quality, punctuality, and communication.
Write a review
A short written review helps workers build their reputation.
Hire again
If you were happy, send a direct offer to the same worker for your next job.

How cancellation works

You can cancel a job at any stage before it is completed. From your dashboard, click "Cancel this job" and select a reason. If work was started, you will also be asked how much work was done and whether the worker was paid.

Before work starts
No payment required. Worker is notified immediately.
After work started
Indicate how much work was done and any payment made.
Incident or dispute
If law enforcement is involved, contact SAPS on 10111 first.
